Refurbishing with Wood Blinds
When remodeling a home, little things tend to get forgotten about at times. One of the things I forgot in a recent remodel of my condo was blinds. So I started doing research into all kinds of blinds…plastic blinds, vinyl blinds, wood blinds, and so on. There were so many to choose from that I nearly got overwhelmed. After many hours of researching, asking advice and playing with designs on the computer, I finally settled on wood blinds.
Why did I choose them? I'm going for a more natural look to my place, to make it more of an oasis of sorts. Since I live in a huge city (and anyone who doesn't call Los Angeles "huge" is silly), I have been looking to make my place a naturalistic oasis, which includes more plants, hard wood floors instead of carpeting and other natural-looking additions. I made my choice after going to several stores and seeing examples of wood blinds repeatedly. After looking at all types of blinds, I finally decided on wood blinds as they would compliment my natural theme.
So after getting my windows measured and choosing the slat size I wanted, I ordered the blinds online (I won't say where yet until I know whether I like them or not). They cost a pretty penny, but they look pretty good. They weren't hard to install either. After an hour or two getting everything set up and properly installed, I sat down for a while and looked at my new blinds. I have to keep them up for a couple of weeks to get a good feel for how they'll impact the rest of the room, but my initial feelings are quite positive.
The blinds aren't the last thing to be done to my place, far from it. They should've been done much sooner though, I think. When everything is done I'll be sure to post up pictures of the finished rooms. Have a great day!
